About
Thomas Hayden Blanchard, 33, was born on September 30, 1980 and passed away peacefully in his home on Monday April 7, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. His premature death followed a very determined and valiant 2 year battle with cancer. Hayden was a lifelong resident of Atlanta, GA and was married to his wife, Shelly, on November 6, 2010. Shelly and Hayden celebrated the birth of their son, Thomas, on November 19, 2013 which has been the joy of both of their lives. Shelly and Thomas were the center of Hayden's universe living for every moment he could spend with them. Hayden was a "people person" with an infectious personality. He could enter a room and transform it with his smile, his attitude or just his presence. He was always more concerned about the happiness and wellbeing of others rather than of himself. As a result, he has an untold number of people that are proud to claim him as their close friend. Also of major importance to Hayden were his dogs, Dean and Grace, which became a huge source of strength during his illness. Hayden and his best friend and twin brother, Parker, enjoyed everything in life side by side. They enjoyed most sports both as participants and as fans. They also were very passionate about their toys in the form of cars and motorcycles particularly enjoying the older classics. His professional life was primarily spent in the area of commercial real estate most recently serving as a project manager for CB Richard Ellis, where he was awarded the Mission Impossible Award for 2011. Hayden enjoyed his work and took great pride in his ability to work with and through other people to accomplish tasks in a correct and timely manner. Hayden grew up in the Dunwoody area of Atlanta attending North Springs High School where he was an outstanding athlete in both baseball and football. After high school, Hayden went on to attend the University of Georgia where he was also involved in the football program and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Hayden is survived by his loving wife, Shelly McNeeley Blanchard; son, Thomas Hayden Blanchard Jr.; mother, Angela Bates Blanchard; father, Peter Griffin Blanchard; twin brother, Parker Griffin Blanchard (McKenzie); sister, Jennifer Blanchard Hightower (Malik); and grandparents, Louis V.
